We climbed 2,873-foot-tall St. Regis Mountain June 10, 2001 on a perfect, late spring day. The climb is short but steep after a nice warm up walk through the woods off Keese Mill Road near Paul Smiths College in southern Franklin County.
The view from the top was phenomenal with the high peaks and other peaks serving as a background for the St. Regis and Saranac chains of lakes and dozens of smaller lakes and ponds.
This was the first time climbing St. Regis for Mike, Colleen, and Jim, and the second time for Jay. We were met at the top by a nice young lady (a steward) who answered any questions we had. What a cool job! To climb a mountain and get paid to do it. We don't think you could get any better pictures than the ones we took this day. A perfect day!
